Gspaltenhorn 3436m

25.07.2019

Griesalp via Leiterngrat

A perfect "scrambling" and "solo" route on a nice mountain in the heart of the Bernese Highland. When the conditions are ideal to do it in skyrunning style, that means dry rock and snow free up to Bütlassensattel, you will find in it a varied and interesting run that offers a little bit of everything, except glacier terrain. A helmet will be a good choice in any circumstances, but in fact, you won't need any other equipment if you are a solid and experienced climber. With nice, mostly runnable trails up to Gspaltenhornhütte, a mind challenging climb to Bütlassensattel over steep scree and gravel (you have the impression it never ends, two steps forward, one back;-)...) and an enjoyable climb over the sometimes exposed (but never too much) Leiterngrat with solid rock and perfect rock steps, the adventure Gspaltenhorn skyrun is one we can recommend you!
