The Mont Pelvoux massiv in the southern Alps is composed of 3 peaks, one of them, Pointe Puiseaux, is the highest point. Couloir Coolidge used as normal route from Pelvoux-Hütte is only feasible in early season, so we had to seek out the scrambling route via rochers rouges, a 600m tall rock face only marked with some cairns. Be aware of rock fall and bring solide routefinding skills with you otherwise you will get lost in this huge rock face for sure and it will exceed climbing grade II . The way up to Pelvouxhütte is a lovely path pretty well laid out for running. The rest of the route pathless terrain, a lot of times cumbersome and demanding.
